
Dr. Lewis has been a patent agent for more than 30 years working for various law firms and as proprietor of his own firm.
David Lewis, a former US patent examiner. David examined patent applications related primarily to liquid crystal display cells. He has also examined patent applications related to optics, electro-optics, printers, and solar collectors.
David holds a doctorate in physics, with a focus on solid-state physics. His thesis work is in computational micromagnetics. David worked as a staff engineer in magnetic recording at Read-Rite Corporation.
David is creative and often provides novel perspectives on many issues related to patent prosecution. David has been a full-time patent agent since the year 2000. David ran his patent agency from 2004 to 2021 and has experience prosecuting patent applications in various areas, including cryptography, databases, new types of computers and self-learning machines, trimmer heads, network communications, and routers in the US. David also has experience
overseeing patent prosecution in other countries (e.g., in the European Patent Office, Canada, and China).
